Jakarta,OpsJurnal.Asia -
Uwais Pictures officially introduces Ikatan Darah, an action-packed feature film directed by Sidharta Tata, offering a compelling blend of intense combat sequences and a deeply rooted story of brotherhood and sacrifice.
Director Sidharta Tata emphasized that Ikatan Darah explores the unbreakable bonds of family and friendship.
“This film portrays how brotherhood and friendship become absolute values—how people are willing to sacrifice and do anything for those they love,” he said.
Beyond its emotional narrative, the film promises a gripping cinematic experience.
“From an action standpoint, audiences can expect a roller-coaster ride in theaters. With the support of an experienced team, including the internationally recognized Uwais Team, we aim to deliver thrilling entertainment from start to finish,” Sidharta added.
The film held its press screening and press conference at Studio 2 XXI Epicentrum, Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (April 22), ahead of its nationwide theatrical release scheduled for April 30, 2026.
Ikatan Darah stars Livi Ciananta, Derby Romero, Dimas Anggara, Teuku Rifnu Wikana, Abdurrahman Arif, Ramadhan Ruswadi, Agra Piliang, Ismi Melinda, and veteran actress Lydia Kandou.
One of the film’s key highlights lies in its diverse fighting styles, showcased through dynamic combat sequences performed by the cast. These variations add richness and authenticity to the film’s action choreography.
Livi Ciananta, who plays the lead character Mega, revealed the extensive preparation behind the action scenes.
“It took about three months to prepare the fighting sequences. We rehearsed almost every day, repeating the choreography created by the Uwais Team. This preparation helped minimize injuries during filming,” she explained.
She also noted that her character is heavily involved in action scenes throughout the film.
“Every fight scene involves Mega, and each one carries a different emotional tone. In her journey to save her brother, she encounters various enemies with distinct killing methods,” Livi added.
For Derby Romero, who portrays Bilal, Ikatan Darah marks his first experience in an action film. Despite his background in athletics and martial arts, including Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu, the role presented new challenges.
“My martial arts background was helpful, but this film is highly physical. I had to sprint, fall, and perform most stunts myself. I also learned that fight choreography is like dance—it has rhythm, beat, and requires strong chemistry,” Derby said.
He added that his character relies heavily on instinct.
“In this film, I fight based on instinct and am constantly pushed to keep moving,” he explained.
Blending international-quality action with strong dramatic elements and local Indonesian nuances, Ikatan Darah delivers a story about life-and-death stakes while reflecting real-life issues faced by many Indonesians.
Synopsis
Mega (Livi Ciananta), a former pencak silat athlete now working as a waitress, must save her brother Bilal (Derby Romero), who becomes the target of ruthless gangsters after falling into debt and committing an accidental killing.
Their escape leads them into a village where all exits have been sealed by henchmen under the command of a crime boss known as Primbon (Teuku Rifnu Wikana). Trapped and hunted, Mega and Bilal must fight together to survive—risking their lives to break free.
